Utilising the new virtual studio at the University of Ilmenau we again use new and experimental applications to show you the world of 3D and visual effects.

Presentation was done in a Orad virtual studio with realtime camera tracking with a realtime 3D set. Presented by Gunnar Mackensen and Jörg-Christian Knochen inside ancient greek ruins floating in space.

• Believe it or not but there once was a palace in Ilmenau. We show you it was recreated in an architectural visualisation.
• We take the character animation a step further and show you how we did a full body motion capture for the virtual character “Marvin”.
• How does the human eye work? Where is the eardrum? A student research project visualises these perceptual organs in this virtual journey.
• A virtual dive through the virtual studio. Well, it sounds weird but it’s very much worth a look.
